Dearest Gentlest Reader,
I come back😊with thoughts I have had running through my mind but not enough words to put on paper. Or rather, with no idea how to put them on paper.
Today's word: INSATIABLE
Simple definition: Never satisfied.
It is often said that greed is the thief of happiness. You know, when nothing is ever enough.
Nothing ever seems to appease you, nothing ever seems to satisfy you. There is this HIGH you are always chasing, this THIRST you are always quenching. Yet you are never SATISFIED.
Wonder why that is?
Maybe it is because your whole life you have never been enough. You have never exactly 'fitted in'. You have always had to go the extra mile to reach a certain point. You have always been mediocre, average, moderate, common.
And now? Now you are left with a bad case of imposter syndrome.
IMPOSTER SYNDROME:
Simple definition - fear of not fitting in/ overall self-doubt.
(Two words in one day, lucky you)
Now every room you walk into feels too big, every person you come across feels superior, all the work you produce feels inadequate.
So you are here, always trying to prove your worth. Always pushing. Trying to be recognized as authentic. Trying to 'unfraud' yourself.
"Maybe if I try hard enough, I will be enough".
But nothing will is ever ENOUGH. And you know what, nothing will EVER be enough, you will never be satisfied.
Why? Because it's all in YOUR HEAD.
Everyone else thinks you're great except yourself. You keep wanting more without appreciating how GREAT you already are.
If you just took a moment, just one moment, to bask in your glory, to appreciate yourself... Then, maybe just then, you'd stop being so darn INSATIABLE.
Yours dearly,
JustToria💖
